Friday after the kids left, after we shut down the site, after all of our meetings, a bunch of us headed into Portland for Happy Hour at the Sebago Brewing Company. Its been a fun weekend and I wish it didn't have to end, but tomorrow we get bombarded with 8th graders, so its back to work. Yesterday I spent the day up in Unity at the Common Ground Country Fair. So yesterday, I hiked up Mt. Chocorua for the second time. I was joined by 5 other co-workers and we had a blast. For one, the water was still high from Thursday's storms and so the waterfalls were raging and awesome. I wish I was able to photograph them. If you've never heard the cry of a Loon, you are missing out on life. It is quite possibly one of the most beautiful sounds that can be found on this planet and its enough to bring tears to your eye. The echoing call of a Loon on a lake is enough to save their habitat and keep places forever wild.

I woke up Sunday morning to a dim sky and a red haze on the horizon. It was cold. So I lay in my warm sleeping bag for a few minutes as the sky got brighter. Going camping is the greatest feeling... sleeping out in the woods waking up to the sunrise in the wilderness... Its all great, in theory. But then when it comes to practice, a nice warm comfy bed sounds much better, no? Maybe.
